The aim was to design a temporary, freestanding, and transportable light pavilion to be installed in museum gardens. This would provide an inspirational space where the general public can stand or sit and admire the design or simply relax underneath the pavilion. The muse I chose for my design was based off the lifecycle of a butterfly. The metal sheets symbolize the leaves where the fabric domes or “eggs” are to be laid. The metal grade supports represent the cocoons that dangle from the foliage awaiting the metamorphizing butterflies to emerge. For extra support, a duo of spheres aid the leaves and act as seeds or fruit the plant may bear, followed by a pole that gives off the façade of the plant’s stem.
